On Monday 16th March the children came in their green outfits to celebrate St Patrick’s Day in School.
To celebrate our patron saint, St Brigid, we has a visit from Parents and Grandparents who helped us to make St Brigid’s Crosses.
We’ve had another great response to the Team Hope Shoebox Appeal, this will make so many children in disadvantaged parts of the world delighted – Thank You!
We would like to wish everyone a big welcome back to school and a warm welcome to our 10 new junior infants, and congratulations to Mr Duffy as he steps into the role of Principal.
We also wish Fr Tom all the best as he retires from the Parish and welcome to Fr Paul as he takes over the role of Parish Administrator.
We hope this year will be a happy one for everyone!
As we approach the last day of term, we just want to wish a safe, happy and relaxing summer to all the staff and children and their families until we see you again on the 1st September! To our leaving 6th class we wish them all the best as they start at Lough Allen College next academic year.
Well done to the boys and girls cumann na mbunscol who had fantastic performances recently in the finals. Well done to the boys and girls, to Mr Maguire and Mr Regan and their parents for a very successful cumann na mbunscol campaign.
Congratulations to Madison Ward who was selected as one of only 3 national winners of the Future Farmers Competition by the National Dairy Council.
Part of Madisons prize was to bring her class to a dairy farm. We visited Pat Duffy’s farm in Gortletteragh and had a lovely time looking at the milking parlour and farm animals.
Madison was also on a panel of future farmers at Bloom and you can see some pictures from both events here.
Fionnuala Maxwell from “Heritage in schools” visited the school.
The children learned about blacksmiths in the village, a blacksmith song and dance.
